2005 Team Almost Complete

After a few false starts and undoubtedly some disappointments, the promotion have announced today that team building is now almost complete with Jamie Birkenshaw being confirmed as the sixth signing.

Jamie joins the Tigers from the 'pretend' Tigers of Sheffield. He was quoted as saying he was disappointed at being left out of their team but had been expecting it.

The 24 year old Yorkshireman has been a regular in the Sheffield side for the last three years but although his home form has been good he has struggled away from home and felt he needed to get more experience on smaller tracks to improve further. I suspect we may need to give him a little time to adjust to Glasgow's track but hopefully by the time the league campaign starts we will reap the benefits. As with George Stancl, Jonah does Jamie's bikes and has been listed as one of the biggest influences on Jamie's career.

The last signing is hoped to be confirmed within the next 24 hours and if it is the anticipated rider, Trent Leverington will start the season as a very strong reserve along with James Cockle.
