Wethers in Australian Solos Round One

New signing Matthew Wethers was in action overnight in the first round of the Australian Solo Championships at Gosford.

The meeting was in doubt from the start after a considerable amount of rain recently and concerns grew after heat 1 took three attempts to run before eventually being awarded to track reserve Holder after Lemon, Woodward and Jones were excluded for various reasons and Shields broke down at the tapes.

After a long delay with riders inspecting the track the meeting went ahead but again in heat 2 there was a faller. Re-grading however allowed the meeting to go ahead as normal.

Round 2 will be held at Newcastle on New Years Day

Leigh Adams went on to win the 'A' final from Johnson, Lyons and McGowan
