Glasgow v Exeter Preview

Posted 02/07/04

This weekend sees Exeter Falcons visit Ashfield although they will be without their influential number 1, Mark Lemmon.

Instead the Falcons have called on Ross Brady to guest for them on their Scottish tour and no doubt as always Ross will be a formidable opposition rider despite never being able to show the same form as a Tiger.

The Falcons look quite strong at the bottom end and Mark Simmonds should provide a tough test for young Eric Carrillo. Graeme Gordon reportedly likes the Glasgow track but in all honesty even with former Monarch Michael Coles in their line up it is difficult to see where many points will come from for the Devon men.

With the meeting being held on 4th July, American Independance Day, Carrillo is bound to want to make a good impression and if afforded extra rides he could do well. Apparently he is still suffering from heavy bruising to his back after last weeks nasty heat 14 crash. Stancl and Jones will be looking to improve drastically on last weeks poor home form and Exeter could well suffer the backlash.

In all, I would expect the Tiggers to score at least high 50's in this one.
