Depleted Field for Scottish Open

This Friday sees the Scottish Open at Armadale and it has to be said that the field does not seem as attractive as in recent years.

The event seems to have been hit hard by call offs and no doubt also by the Premier League Chase at Kings Lynn two days earlier. As a result it looks like there will be as many as SIX home riders in the field.

Last years winner, Sudden Sam Ermolenko, does not appear to have been invited back to defend his title and many think that this is no co-incidence given that he is Eric Carrillo's agent, Eric opting for a move to Glasgow ahead of Edinburgh.

16.Mads Korneliussen

Obviously home riders Rory Schlein and Frede Schott will start as favourites but Shane Parker must surely also be in with a shout.

Other riders to watch will be Carl Stonehewer and David Howe.
