Stoke v Glasgow Preview
Posted 25/06/04

The Potters travel to Ashfield this weekend defending a 12 point lead from last weekend's contraversial meeting at Stoke. Hopefully this weeks talking points will all be centred around decent racing rather than a referee changing the rules to suit his own interpretation.

This will not be an easy meeting for the Tigers. Trent Leverington has been riding well for Stoke, obviously knows the Ashfield track very well and will be keen to impress. Pickering and Staechmann are always formidable opposition and now that Kessler is back in the team they look quite strong. Of course all that assumes that Pickering has recovered from his 'dizzy turn'! Clews is a potential weak spot and it is hard to judge how Tom Brown will do on the smaller track.

Glasgow do not appear to have any injury worries heading in to this meeting and no doubt the Tigers will be keen to get revenge for the happenings of last weekend.

Once again Eric should be a key figure and I would expect Shane to be close to maximum points. Grieves goes well at home so a lot will probably depend on the form of Bentley and Blackman on the day.

In all honesty the bonus point is certainly within comfortable reach and I would be very disappointed if it did not remain at Ashfield on Sunday night.
