2005 - Second Signing Announced

Posted 12/11/04

Glasgow have today announced James Cockle as their second signing for the 2005 team.

James came into the team towards the end of last year after Corey Blackman quit and Mark Thompson broke his wrist whilst appearing as a guest for the Tigers.

His never say die attitude immediately endeared him to the Glasgow faithful and unusually for a 3-point rider he became one of the first names on most Tigers fans lists of riders wanted for 2005.

The promotion obviously felt the same way and sought Len Silvers permission to talk to James at an early stage. At the Supporters Club Dinner Dance it was indicated that discussions with James were at an advanced stage and although today's announcement is probably not a great surprise, it is a welcome confirmation that he will be in the Tigers colours next season.

James' inclusion in next years team means that Glasgow will still have at least one postman in their line-up! With the BSPA conference next week it is extremely unlikely there will be any further signings until after next years rules, regulations and points totals have been set.
