King Reigns - Cockle Fourth
U18 Championship 18/10/04
Daniel King was tonight crowned U18 Championship
after scoring a 15 point maximum at Wolverhampton. Glasgow reserve James
Cockle finished on a respectable 11 points.
James put up a good display but had a costly last place
in his 3rd ride when up against Workingtons James Wright, Elite League's
Eddie Kennett and Sheffield reserve/second string Ben Wilson - perhaps
he was a shade unfortunate to draw all three in the one heat.
Barring that ride, James had 3 heat wins and a second
place - in his first ride behind eventual winner King - and finished
with a creditable 11 points. As he had more heat wins than Jamie Robertson
and beat Will Lawson when they came head-to-head, James finished in
4th place.
