2004 Glasgow Scoring Record

A few eye brows were raised when veteran Graham Jones decided to return to the sport and many felt it was a masterstroke by the Glasgow promotion to atttract him to go PL.

It was always going to be a gamble but on a 4 point average it was a gamble worth taking and for the three months Graham was in Tigers colours it paid dividends with his influence in the pits an additional benefit.

Sadly personal problems, a succession of costly equipment problems and injury were to bring the arrangement to a premature end.

Graham was a vastly experienced rider who retired in 97 due to injury. He made a succesful comeback in CL in 2003 with Wolverhampton as an old hand to guide and advise youngsters. An engine tuner, he has continued to work with bikes and has strong views on what is required at youth level to help develop British speedway.

Amongst his credits as a rider he has a championship winners medal from his time at Wolverhampton in 1991 and won the division 2 pairs in 1988 with Steve Bastable. Graham has also appeared in the British final on three occassions.
