From Cinder to Shale

Many will be aware of the Speedway museum collated by Ian Paterson. It opens 3-4 times per year and this Sunday is the first open day of the year.

The museum itself is well worth a visit. It is located at Loanhead, just off the Edinburgh bypass and has everything from complete bikes down to badges and posters from days gone by up to the present date.

Opening times are 11a.m. till 2p.m. with an entrance fee of £3.00 and whilst this Sunday may not be ideal with the small matter of a derby meeting at Ashfield to take into account, the museum is also expected to open on 5th June, 31st July and 2nd October. The only one of those dates that Glasgow do not currently have a meeting arranged for is the 2nd October.
