Kings
Lynn Preview
by KA Posted 17/08/05
Glasgow head for the Norfolk Arena this
evening to take on a Kings Lynn side who have been immense at home
in recent weeks.
Its not a track that Glasgow traditionally do well on and
there is little to indicate this visit will provide any sort of surprise.
Obviously Shane Parker as an ex-Kings Lynn rider should go well -
as he did at the recent Premier League Chase, only being beaten in
the final. However, George Stancl did not have such a good time of
it that night, going out at the earlier stages. On league duty he
did have an outing as a guest for the Stars earlier in the season,
scoring 8 from 4 but the likelihood is he will find it very difficult
this evening.
The reserves battle could be interesting. Jan Jaros has found
good form round his home track and would normally be expected to come
out on top quite comfortably. However both Adam and James have experience
on the track riding for Boston, Adam scoring a paid maximum there
last Friday. The other Stars reserve, Tommy Stange, has also done
well at the Norfolk arena since Coming into the team at the beginning
of the month.
There seems little doubt who will win the middle order battle
with Glasgow looking extremely weak. Neither Trent nor Claus have
a good record on the track and Stefan will be riding it for the first
time since his return to UK speedway. They will be up against Troy
Batchelor who has posted some very impressive results this month,
ex-Tiger Kevin Doolan who has paid maximums to his name for the last
two home meetings, and Ashley Jones.
It certainly looks as though the best Tigers can hope for
is to keep the score close enough to gain the bonus on Sunday.
