Glasgow follow on from yesterdays disappointment
against Kings Lynn with a visit to Smallmead to face Reading Racers
this evening.
Reading may well be below Glasgow in the league but they
have recently been boosted by the return of Danny Bird, out injured
since March. His two home meetings since he came back have both produced
maximums. With the mysterious Matej Zagar at number 5 they now have
one of the strongest top pairings in the league.
At the other end of the scale, Matt Tresarrieu has recently
dropped to reserve. Fellow reserve is expected to be Lee Smart, who
Glasgow's youngsters faced recently in the home meeting with Somerset,
Smart winning the reserve race.
The Czech pairing of Zdenek Simota and Richard Wolff together
with Andrew Appleton complete the line up. Simota has come on to some
decent form in the last month or two not that he has settled in to
UK speedway and is quite consistent round his home track. Wolff has
suffered a bit of a dip in form lately by comparison. After a poor
spell in July, Andrew Appleton also seems to have hit form recently
and his last home outing against Hull saw him record a paid maximum.
Overall, we do appear to be unlucky in that we are hitting
Reading as they find their form. With only a 10 point lead from the
first leg back in May it looks as if it could be another disappointing
night for the Tigers.
