The Messiah Returns!
Posted 12/12/05

Glasgow fans got the early Christmas present they hoped for when it was confirmed today that Shane Parker has agreed terms and will again be riding for the Tigers in 2006.

Glasgow's financial situation has been well reported in the past few months and Shane himself has confirmed in the Scottish press recently that if he were to return to Glasgow it would be at a reduced pay rate. He has often commented on how happy he has been at Glasgow, his liking for the track, promotion and fans, and it speaks volumes that Shane was prepared to take a pay cut and continue travelling the long distance from his home base to Glasgow every week.

As well as his influence on track, Shane is an important factor off track with James Cockle just one of those who readily admit that his advice has been invaluable in their development. With the new reserve rules and the increased emphasis now for lower averaged riders who can increase their average, the influence of an experienced professional like Shane will be needed more than ever.

Welcome home Shane!

It was also mentioned in the press release that the Tigers expect to be able to confirm the fourth signing towards the end of this week.
