Deja Vu for Hull Visit?
Posted 25/02/05

Last season when Hull visited Glasgow in the Premier trophy, they had to ride with a weakened side as one of their riders, Magnus Karlsson, was riding elsewhere – they used Glasgow’s Gary Beaton as a Conference League guest. It now looks likely that history could repeat itself this season.

Former Glasgow asset Emiliano Sanchez, sold to Hull in the winter, has previously ridden on a British licence. However during the close season Sanchez switched to an Italian licence to allow him entry into the European Championships.

This means that Hull no longer have first claim on his services and the first time this could cause problems is when Hull are due to visit Ashfield on 3rdApril for the Premier Trophy match.

Sanchez will ride in an Italian Championship on the Saturday night. He is hoping to make the relevant flight to Glasgow in time for tapes up at 3pm on the Sunday but the timings are tight and there is a strong possibility that Hull may, once again, be forced to field a weakened side at Ashfield.
