Matthew Wethers was once again in action
down under with the second round of the Australian Solo Championships
at Newcastle on New Years Day.
Unusually for a speedway meeting, each race was over
THREE laps as the Newcastle circuit is so large, thus also making
it a very fast circuit. Once again, Matthew scored four points in
the qualifying heats in a fairly strong field.
Results of the heats Matthew appeared in were as
follows: -
Heat 01 Gjedde, Watson, Wethers, Jones
Heat 05 Shields, McGowan, Doyle, Wethers
Heat 09 Johnston, Batchelor, Wethers, Ferguson
Heat 13 Lyons, Lemon, Wethers, Woodward
Heat 17 Adams, Doolan, Wethers, Schlein (F)
The third and penultimate round of the Championship
takes place on Wednesday, 5th January, at Gillman.
