Wethers Disappoints in
Aus U-21 Final
Posted 29/01/05
Matthew Wethers had a poor showing by his
standards in todays U-21 Championships at Tamworth and will not doubt
want to forget this one.
As one of the 10 seeded riders Matthew would no doubt
have been aiming towards a podium place but instead seemed off form
as he struggled to a total of only 6 points - from one second place
and four thirds.
However Matthew was not alone in not living up to
expectations as the big surprise of the day was Rory Schlein being
beaten into second place by Sydneys Chris Holder. Holder, 17, was
a well deserved winner on the day, going through the entire meeting
unbeaten.
Results of the heats involving Matthew were as follows:
-
Ht 03 Woodward, Hedley, Wethers, Jones (57.47)
Ht 08 Harding, Gathercole, Wethers, J Holder (57.72)
Ht 10 Schlein, Batchelor, Wethers, Parsons (58.13)
Ht 13 Ksiezak, Wethers, Slade, James (58.94)
Ht 19 C Holder, Doyle, Wethers, Herne (57.64).
