This Weeks 'Meetings'
Posted 31/01/05

Tomorrow sees the CL Conference in Rugby and it is followed on Wednesday by a Promoters meeting on the 2nd February.

Although the CL conference does not involve Glasgow directly it will probably be of quite a bit of interest to young James Cockle who will no doubt be looking to ride CL next season as well as Premier League. However, the withdrawal of a few clubs from the CL has already been announced and almost 50% of those remaining - including James' CL track from last year - are running on a Sunday so his options may well be limited.

Wednesday sees the Promoters Conference take place in London and although many fans thought this would be a contentious meeting a few weeks back, most of the issues appear to have been ironed out before the event.

Isle of Wight and Kings Lynn's battle over Troy Batchelor looks to have gone the way of the Norfolk Club and although many fans feel that Stuart Robson is riding on an unjust average, the indications are that this will also be allowed to go through despite it appearing contradictory to the rules(his last PL average is being used rather than his converted Elite League average despite him having been away from PL speedway for over a year).

On a positive note, it is anticipated that fixture lists can take a step closer to being finalised and they could be available to the fans within a week of the meeting.
