Roynon
Completes New Line Up
Posted 21/06/05
Glasgow's
new line up is now complete with the announcement that 16 year old
Adam Roynon has joined the Tigers.
Adam has attracted a lot of interest ever since he first
started in speedway and he has a good speedway pedigree - his father
is a previous promoter of Barrow and a past rider (including a spell
in the mid 70's with Paisley and Coatbridge).
Adam himself took some second half rides at Armadale before
travelling the long distance to Swindon to take full advantage of
their training facilities and youth policy. It was logical that he
therefore made his conference league debut with the Sprockets, riding
10 meetings for them in 2003. He signed for the Peterborough Panthers
Conference League side in 2004 but when they withdrew from CL competitions
he signed up with Mildenhall.
During the winter, Coventry signed him as an asset with the
promise of regular speedway with the Cougars but as with the previous
season this fell through when Cougars were withdrawn and Adam once
again turned to Mildenhall before moving on just a few short weeks
ago to Boston.
He has already ridden at Ashfield this year, as a guest for
Workington a few weeks ago when most assumed his local club would
then step in and offer him terms. This did not appear to happen and
Glasgow have taken advantage to sign the promising youngster up to
ride for the Tigers.
As a youngster just starting out in the Premier League Adam
may take a little time to settle but has already shown he has the
ability.
Welcome to Glasgow Adam.
