Reserve Pair Also Win on Sunday
Posted 28/06/05

Whilst we were all shouting Shane and George on to victory on Sunday, the Glasgow reserve pairing were having their first outing riding together in Boston racejackets at Mildenhall.

James Cockle top scored on what was his debut for Boston with 16(5), including a tactical ride, as Boston went on to claim an away victory by 49 points to 42. Adam Roynon weighed in with 6+2(5) but two of his rides were cut short - one due to engine failure, the other due to a nasty looking fall.

The youngsters settled in to riding together quite quickly and seemed to have a good understanding. Both were victims of heavy falls during the meeting, Adam as above in heat 7 whilst James was taken down by Mildenhall's ex Glasgow rider Aiden Collins in the first running of heat 15 and spent some time down receiving medical attention. He was able to take his place in the re-run alongside his new Glasgow team mate Adam Roynon where both riders were to fall victim to engine failure - Adam on the second lap, James at the end of lap three. James pushed his bike home for the last lap to claim second place.

Hopefully neither youngster will have any after effects from their outing and will be fit and ready to go against Hull on Wednesday night.
