Severity of Arson Attack Admitted
Speedway Star, Posted 04/03/05

There is a little more coverage than normal of the Tigers in this weeks Speedway Star with a good deal of coverage being given to last October's arson attack on the stadium and how close things came to Glasgow being unable to run at Ashfield this season.

Stewart Dickson admits in a separate article that after they saw the severity of the damage inside the stand he feared that Glasgow may have been frozen out of the 2005 campaign.

There is also mention that the damage could be part of a vendetta against Glasgow Tigers or Ashfield FC. There have been many instances of vandalism at the stadium in the Tigers time there as well as a couple of break ins at the bar. Stewart is quoted as saying: -

'I definitely think there is somebody out there against Glasgow Speedway or Ashfield FC, and the football club would be first to point out that these attacks on the Stadium didn't happen until we moved in, which backs up the theory that someone wants us out'

All repair work on the stand is due to be completed by the beginning of next week.
