Quiet Start for Shane

Shane opened his 2005 season by scoring 5+2 from four rides in the Maurice Littlechild Memorial Trophy at Kings Lynn .

In a high class field, the opposition riders who got the better of Shane were Davey Watt, Jason Crump, Tom Topinka and surprisingly Olly Allen. Shane did chase Allen all the way to the flag in heat 12 but was unable to get past him on a track described as very slick and not conducive to passing.

Shane was in the Knights team who ended up winners by 52 points to 37.
