Edinburgh Meeting Off
Posted 18/03/05

Tonights Spring Trophy second leg meeting at Armadale has been called off due to the poor state of the Armadale track.

The call off was made official at 4.45 and is believed to be more down to rain earlier in the week than today - the track has been unable to copy with the torrential rain of Wednesday and Thursday despite sterling efforts from the track staff.

It does make you wonder if the building of the houses right up to the perimiter of the Armadale circuit from the south side has had an adverse affect on the drainage at the West Lothian Arena.

No date has as yet been announced for the re-run although it is unlikely to be in the near future as Edinburgh do not have a free Friday until the 13th May.

It also means that James Cockle will now have to sit out the Workington home meeting on 27th March to complete his four meeting ban, meaning that he will not now be starting his season until the home meeting against Hull on 3rd April.
