GTSSC Dinner Dance and
Awards
Posted 09/10/05
Rather earlier than usual, GTSSC held their
dinner dance last night at Firhill, an event attended by 6 of the
7 current team and two of the three promoters.
As suspected with the uncertainty over team building limits
for next season, there were no signings announced at the Dance this
year.
The rider awards ended up being split between three riders.
Predictably, Shane Parker won the Home Rider of the Year of the Year
award and also the Highest Points scorer, both by significant margins.
The Away Rider of the Year award was apparently a close fought
contest, George Stancl being declared the winner.
The final award of the night, the most bonus points scored,
was decided in the final meeting of the season with James Cockle clinching
it.
The riders present were all presented with a small memento
of this season from the GTSSC as were the Promoters. Alan Dick and
Gordon Pairman were in attendance and gave short speeches (see separate
story) but on the whole the event seemed a lot more low key than
last year.
Well done to the committee of the GTSSC who obviously put
a lot of hard work into providing a good night for the fans.
