'Northern' Riders Championship?

With an event called the Northern Riders Championship coming up on
Thursday Glasgow fans could be forgiven for having a look to see which
of their riders had been invited along.
However the only rider with a slight link to Glasgow in the
line up is from the start of the season - Sheffield expert Jamie Birkinshaw.
Glasgow riders seem to have lost out to, amongst others, Mark Lemon
from that well known Northern team Exeter!
In reality it is unlikely that any of the finishing 1-7 would
be in with a chance of challenging in the event given that it is held
at Sheffield but to call it a Northern Riders Championship seems to
suggest someone's geography is not too good!
