Speedway Night

The new Tigers Support Group, STARS, held their first event last night
with the speedway race night which seemed to go down well with those
in attendance.
A reasonable turnout enjoyed the 10 heats of racing and the
opportunity to see some speedway from years gone by as well as more
recent racing.
There were the usual raffles and of course Alan Dick was
in attendance to bring people up to date on the current situation
with the Tigers - a separate note of what was said will be posted
shortly. It was also good to see James Cockle coming along and enjoying
himself ahead of his busy weekend.
First Bend Action Videos were represented and it was confirmed
that so far this season they had contributed the sum of £700
to the Glasgow promotion from sales of videos and DVD's, something
that should be remembered when looking for those Christmas presents!
Overall despite some early gremlins a good night was had
by all and those behind it should take a bow for their initiative
and hard work in staging an ambitious first event.
Next event will be a Quiz night and is expected to take place
around the end of November. Alan and Stewart have already indicated
that they will try and be in attendance once more to pass on any information
to the fans.
