Record
Stefan was somewhat of a surprise signing when announced in June
2005 but has quickly become a favourite at Ashfield.
He has previously ridden in the UK but it was over 10 years ago
with Eastbourne and since has spent most of his time in Sweden.
Last year Stefan rode in the same Piraterna side as Shane Parker
and it is believed to have been Shane who recommended him to the
Glasgow promotion. This season he is riding for Lejonen in the Allsvenskan
whilst also doubling up for VMS Elit in the Elitserien. At the time
of signing for the Tigers he was the fourth highest averaged rider
in the Allsvenskan and those watching him regularly in Sweden comment
they feel he is riding better than he had ever done before.
Glasgow hoped that Stefan will come in to fill the third heat leader
slot, a position that has been sadly lacking for the Tigers this
season, and early indications are that he is more than capable of
that role.
Initially only signed for 28 days, the anxiety of the Glasgow fans
as to whether or not the promotion would secure his services for
the remainder of the season are a good indication of the impact
Stefan has made in a short time and his popularity amongst the Tigers
support..
