Matthew is one of the few quiet Aussie's around! Well liked, he
came over to the UK in 2003 as one of Edinburgh's 'discovered' Aussie's.
In his first season he rode at Conference level for the Dale Devils
and Wolverhampton Cubs as well as breaking into Edinburgh's Premier
League team and winning a league championship medal in return for
his 29 appearances.
He continued his progression in the Monarchs team in 2004 and gained
a reputation for being stylish and a steady improving youngster.
It therefore came as a great surprise when it was announced that
there would be no place for the promising youngster at Armadale
in 2005.
Edinburgh's loss should undoubtedly be Glasgow's gain and there
are very few who would not expect Matthews steady progression to
continue in 2005.
