On
Thursday evening the Tigers are in action again as they take
on their Sheffield namesakes on a track Sheffield have only
lost once on in official racing since 1998.
Shane
does do well on the track - especially when on a TR! - but
Danny has not ridden in for some time and is still settling
into racing again. Their counterparts on teh Sheffield side,
Andre Compton and Ricky Ashworth, have both been in excellent
form at home and have home averages in excess of 10 points
each.
Kauko
will prefer to forget his visit to Sheffield in the PT for
Workington last season, although he did do considerably better
on his league visit later in the year scoring 6+1. David and
Lee, if he is fit to ride, both dislike the Sheffield track.
Given the Sheffield middle order of Kyle Legault, Ben Wilson
and Emiliano Sanchez, the Glasgow trio may well struggle.
Whilst
Glasgow reserves got the better of their Sheffield counterparts
at Ashfield earlier this month, it will be a lot closer at
Sheffield. Paul Cooper has suffered some poor form recently
and both he and Benji Compton have recently had heavy knocks
in falls round their own circuit. James' upturn in form in
the last week could see him pick up some points and Robert
is also capable of doing so despite his recent dip in form.
The
facilities at Sheffield are excellent but I always seem to
be a jinx as I have yet to see anything other than 'out of
the gate' speedway there. However I will not be attending
this meeting - DJW has kindly agreed to do a report on it
in my absence - so hopefully there will be some good racing
for those travelling to enjoy.
It
is, however, a major challenge for Glasgow to come away from
Owlerton with any points in this one having only won the home
tie by seven points.
