Fours Teams Declared?
Posted 04/08/06

According to the BSPA site, the teams for this years fours competition at Workington have been declared and unless it has been decreed that teams cannot use their reserves, the Glasgow declared team looks rather surprising.

Many fully expected Robert Ksiezak to be in the four and given that he is currently fourth in the greensheets at Glasgow it was a reasonable assumption. However, the team named by the BSPA has David McAllan as the fourth member with Lee Dicken named as reserve which, with no disrespect to David or Lee intended, seriously weakens Glasgow's chances.

Of all the teams 'declared', no current reserves are included in the line up or as reserve for the meeting but realistically the only team likely to have done so was Glasgow.

It is extremely disappointing if Glasgow are prevented from using their top four in the greensheets solely because one of them happens to be a graded reserve, or if it is by Glasgow's choice it is a poor decision.

We can only hope that the BSPA site is incorrect and that Robert will be allowed to compete.

Teams as listed by the BSPA site - with average round the Workington track in all meetings since 2004 according to www.premierleaguespeedway.co.uk in brackets - are: -
