Hodgson
in for Redcar

The
Official
Redcar Website has this evening confirmed that in place
of Matt Tresarrieu - who has chosen to ride in a grasstrack
meeting at Swingfield instead of turning out for the Bears
at Glasgow - they will have a Conference League guest from
the ranks of their junior side, Rusty Hodgson.
Rusty
has had a couple of second half outings at Ashfield so will
not be seeing the track for the first time. The 24 year old
former road racer has a speedway pedigree and becomes the
third generation of his family to ride for the Bears (although
technically his father and grandfather rode for 'Middlesboro'
Bears rather than Redcar).
He
is expected to ride at number 4.
Rather
surprisingly the official Redcar site seem to imply that team
boss Brian Havelock was disappointed that he could not use
rider replacement for his missing Frenchman - we bet he was,
but the rules dictate that when he is riding elsewhere other
than in an approved meeting that a Conference League guest
is the only option.
