Nieminen Confirmed at Workington

Although its been widely known for some time, Kauko Nieminen has today been officially confirmed as a member of the Workington team for 2007 after his successful year at Glasgow.

Kauko had indicated at the end of last season that he hoped to return to the Tigers but he is a Workington asset and when Carl Stonehewer announced his retiral from the sport, the Comets were always going to be keen to have him return.

It's understood that Glasgow could not compete with the financial package Kauko was offered by the club that his UK base is nearest to.
