Lawson in Running for Cumbrian of the Year

It's not the Greatest Tiger Stevie Lawson but his son, Simon, who is one of eight nominees for the Cumbrian News & Star Cumbrian of the Year Event.

Many will remember Simon as a youngster having a few laps of the track after Glasgow home meetings. However Simon elected to opt for moto-x rather than speedway. Unfortunately a serious accident 5 years ago left him paralysed from the waist down but his comeback on a customised bike against the odds has earned him a spot in the Newspapers poll as an inspiration to others.
