The local paper in Reading is reporting that Danny Bird is expected to ride in a Great Britain select team at Smallmead on the 13th March to open Readings season.

If he is confirmed as one of those named in the select, he will be riding against those he originally expected to be his team mates this season, plus his replacement Andy Smith.

No doubt Danny will be keen to show BSI the error of their ways in allowing him to go which should make it a very interesting night for the fans.

If it goes ahead, the meeting takes place before the anticipated dates for Glasgow's Press and Practice and the start of the Tigers own 2006 campaign.
