Brady
In Limbo

Glasgow
asset Ross Brady looks set to become a pawn in a game of chess
between his parent club and Edinburgh over the next few weeks.
Brady
has made no secret of not wishing to return to ride for Glasgow
in the future and given the current financial climate at Ashfield,
the Tigers promotion understandably want to recoup at least
some of the £12,000 transfer fee paid for Brady at the
start of 2003.
However,
a story in the Edinburgh Evening News quotes Edinburgh's John
Campbell as saying: -
Glasgow have a determination
to sell Ross and we have a determination not to buy him.
We have other options available to us which means we don't
have to spend large amounts of money on transfer fees.
Whilst
in reality this is probably only the opening gambit in negotiations
between the two clubs, if Edinburgh and Glasgow both stick
to their guns it could mean Brady might find it difficult
to get a team slot in 2006.
It
is believed that loan fees between premier league clubs tend
to be at best minimal which probably explains Edinburgh's
reluctance to pay for Brady's contract. However the Glasgow
promotion have learned the hard way in the past few years
that finances must be controlled and this must surely include
selling the contract of a reluctant rider whilst the club
can still get some money for him.
