James' Elite Debut

James Cockle made his Elite League debut tonight at Ipswich guesting for Peterborough and although he failed to score from his four meetings, the experience alone should prove invaluable for James this season.

He was unlucky in heat two when the race was called all four back after Wilkinson fell on the second bend. He was also involved in an event packed heat 8 - the referee apparently put the tapes up without putting the green light on and the second running resulted in a tapes exclusion for Ipswich reserve Carl Wilkinson. At the third attempt, James gated but was unfortunately soon past.

However he obviously did enough to warrant being given his fourth ride in heat 14 when the scores were still evenly balanced with Peterborough only trailing by 2. They eventually lost by 48-42.
