Shane
Scores 9+1 as Kaparna Go Down
Posted 08/06/06
Kaparna
surprisingly lost by 49-47 at Valsarna this evening with Shane
having a mixed night in recording 9+1 from 6 rides.
Things
started badly for Shane as he was on the wrong end of a 5-1
in heat 3, coming in third ahead of his team mate with the
Valsarna pairing well clear. This was reversed in his second
race of the evening in heat 7 when he and partner Stefan Andersson
recorded a 5-1 despite Shane in second having to fight off
a very determined challenge from Robert Eriksson.
As
a result, Shane was brought in to replace Tomas Karlsson in
the next heat but the move backfired with Shane finishing
at the back in a heat won from the gate. Heat 12 was back
to the old Shane as he came out on top of an excellent battle
with Ricky Kling to claim the victory before recording another
tough victory in heat 14. His final race in heat 16 saw Shane
fail to score with Robert Eriksson getting revenge for heat
7 by winning the battle between the two for third place.
