After
two rain offs in two days,Glasgow will be hoping that against
the odds tomorrow's opening home meeting against Edinburgh
will go ahead. Our opponents have not fared much better this
weekend, only having 2 heats at Berwick this evening (Saturday)
before the meeting was called to a halt due to the weather.
The
Tigers will go into the meeting more confident thanks to having
a victory under their belt from this seasons sole meeting
plus having home advantage.
Moller
will be seeing the track for the first time and should be
no match for the Glasgow heat leaders. Harrison had a poor
outing by his standards last time round and he failed to beat
a Glasgow heat leader, something he will be keen to make amends
for.
Wethers
and Lawson both know the track well and Lawson in particular
could inflict damage as the rider who has a decent number
of meetings under his belt so far this season thanks to doubling
up with Wolves. Theo Pijper will again hope to score well
on a track he tends to ride well.
The
reserve battle should be a good one to watch. Derek Sneddon
and James Cockle are the subject of a bet ion who will end
the season on a higher average and both will be keen to claim
first blood in the scoring stakes. Robert Ksiezak started
the season in excellent form at Berwick and will hopefully
repeat that performance showing parent club Edinburgh what
they are missing whilst Sean Stoddart will be keen to recapture
the form shown at the end of 2004 and is undoubtedly a bargain
C grade on his day.
Glasgow
will be expecting to come out on top in this one although
the margin may not be as much as some of the supporters would
like. Bird and Parker should dominate at the top and this
will possibly be the difference between the teams come the
end of heat 15.
