Armadale
Suffers Major Damage
Posted 27/03/06
Our
friends in the East have suffered a major blow with what is
reported as 'major damage' thanks to vandalism at Armadale
although they have stated they fully believe Friday night's
meeting against the Tigers WILL go ahead.
The
Speedway safety fence, electrical systems and some vehicles
appear to have been the worst hit but ironically it is believed
that the vandals were animal rights campaigners who believed
they were targeting the greyhound racing at the stadium.
The
Official
Edinburgh website is now reporting that volunteer assistance
to get the venue up and running again would be welcomed but
they are unable to start the clean up yet as police are still
conducting investigations at the moment.
As
part of the speedway family, we hope the damage is not as
bad as first reported and wish them well in their battle to
repair it in time for Friday night - and not just to allow
the Tigers to claim their second away win of the season!
