Following on from our article last week, the team at Speedways60inGlasgow have kindly sent us their full Press Release which we are happy to reproduce in full - something we are happy to do for ANY of the organisations working hard for the benefit of Glasgow Speedway.

New fundraising initiative by the Glasgow Tigers Speedway Supporters Club:

A new fundraising initiative by the Glasgow Tigers Speedway Supporters Club is sure to make speedway internet history. Marking the 60th anniversary of the Glasgow club, currently based at Ashfield Stadium, a special fundraising website has been launched.

Based on the Million Dollar Home Page model, the site found at www.speedways60inglasgow.com, offers all speedway fans the chance to sponsor site squares known as pixels and display an image or advertisement of their choice. Each square or pixel costs £2.50 to sponsor and there is no minimum or maximum donation.

Supporters Club Chairperson Anne Coleman said “We really wanted to mark our 60th anniversary year with a special effort and reach out to fans. We know that speedway fans up and down the country already use the internet to keep in touch and share information, so we hope they will log-on to this site and help us with this one-off fundraising effort. We have deliberately not set a minimum pixel sponsorship to allow everyone to take part.”

The site is now live and can be reached at the web address www.speedways60inglasgow.com.

Glasgow Tigers Speedway can be found at Ashfield Stadium, Glasgow every Sunday until October.
