Cockle to Ride Through Pain Barrier

Heat 12 of last Sunday's meeting with Redcar left its mark on James Cockle as he picked up not one but two injuries although he has vowed to make this weekend's meeting against Berwick according to the Sun newspaper.

Between the incident at the start with Sneddon which resulted in James colliding heavily with the fence, and his fall in the subsequent re-run when trying too hard to catch Sneddon on the final bend he suffered a broken finger and damage to his shoulder.

He is quoted as saying:-

We already have Kauko Nieminen out injured so the last thing the management need is another casualty.

Scottish Teletext have previously posted that the Berwick meeting was Kauko Nieminens target meeting for a return to racing.
