Kauko Named in Finland Team

Finland certainly seem confident of Kauko Nieminen's hopes to return to racing within the next seven days as he has been named in their Speedway World Cup team for the qualifying round in Latvia.

The meeting takes place in Daugavpils in Latvia on Saturday 27th May.

If Kauko is fit and back riding, it would mean that Glasgow would be sweating on whether or not he could return in time for their meeting with Stoke at Ashfield the following afternoon as Daugavpils is around 120 miles from the airport at Riga and there are only a couple of flights to the UK that would get him to Glasgow in time.

If Kauko was able to do it, it would result in a very busy weekend for him not long after coming back from injury with three meetings in three days - the world cup on the Saturday, Glasgow v Stoke on the Sunday and Edinburgh in the Monday evening.
