Stoke Preview
Posted 25/05/06
Only just over a month since their visit to Ashfield in the
Premier Trophy, Stoke return to Glasgow tomorrow to open the
Tigers home league campaign.
Although
Tigers recorded a comfortable 20 point win on Stoke's last
visit, Tigers can expect a different meeting this time with
the Potters having strengthened their line up by dropping
Michael Coles in favour of Trent Leverington.
Trent
has yet to really find his form but will be keen to show everyone
at their home track just what they are missing although David
McAllan's recent form will provide him with a stiff test.
Alan
Mogridge was in fine form on his last visit but had to do
without Mark Lemon's back up for the latter part of the meeting
after the Aussie once again came to grief on the Ashfield
track. He remains however one of the few riders who can mount
a challenge to Shane Parker on his day.
Robbie
Kessler tends to do well at Glasgow although you can never
tell which Paul Clews you will get on the day he tends to
pick up important points.
Barrie
Evans and Luke Priest should again find it difficult although
to be fair Evans rode better than his score suggested last
time round.
Tigers
suffered badly from engine troubles in the last meeting or
their winning margin could have been much greater. Tomorrow
is likely to be far closer but the Tigers must be confident
of securing a comfortable win in this opening home league
fixture.
