Few More Conference Snippets

A
few more details have emerged via club web sites and press
releases on some of the decisions made at the BSPA Annual
Conference - including the BSPA's unique interpretation of
North, Midlands and South where the Premier Trophy is concerned
which has angered Workington fans in particular! Extra details
that have so far emerged are: -

Trophy Qualifiers |
- The top team from each group qualifies
PLUS the best placed loser

| British
Academy League |
- At least 15 clubs have apparently
expressed an interest in running sides in this league
to be run after the main meetings although the identity
of the teams is currently unknown. Only Newcastle
and Ipswich have indicated, in their local press,
an interest in running such a team.

| Reserves |
- The promoters have agreed to use
at reserve only riders who would have qualified for
2006 grading plus four 'wild cards' who it was felt
were disadvantaged by last years gradings.

- The four 'wild cards' are David
McAllan, Lee Dicken, David Meldrum and Jamie Birkinshaw.

- Edinburgh's John Campbell has stated
that a non-Brit CAN end up at reserve after averages
are re-declared.

- The initial declaration of teams
can include a rider in the main body of the team with
a starting average lower than one or both of the reserves.
