Bird Confirmed at Reading

The first of last years 1-7 to obtain a confirmed place for 2007 away from Ashfield is Danny Bird who, predictably, has been confirmed in the Reading Bulldogs line up in the Elite League.

Danny will possibly still be on edge until the season starts as last year he was in the same position, believing he had a team place in their Elite League line up until an average calculation error showed up and the Bulldogs chose to drop him.

Reading's loss was Glasgow's gain but although Danny made all the right comments at the end of last season about his time at Glasgow there was never really any doubt that he would not be returning and would be stepping up to the Elite League a season later than he had hoped.

Danny is quoted as saying of Glasgow

“I enjoyed it up there, they looked after me really well, but I am looking forward to riding for Reading again. I’m delighted,” said Bird, 27.

We wish Danny well for 2007.
