Shane
Rides at Poole, Hull Cancelled
Posted 05/10/06
Glasgow
captain Shane Parker was a late replacement last night for
Reading as he stood in for Matej Zagar in the Craven Shield
tie at Poole.
The
three way tie - between Poole, Reading and Swindon, was the
second leg of the three leg qualifier - was held on a wet
track at Wimborne Road and didn't exactly go Shane's way.
In
his opening race, Shane missed the gate and was unable to
make any inroads into catching those ahead of him, coming
in at the back. this was followed in heat 8 by a retiral after
Shane appeared to clip the fence at the end of the second
lap although this could have been down to bike problems. Ironically,
Islanders Kryzstof Stojanowski guesting for Swindon fell later
on in the heat and the race was awarded with only two riders
deemed to have finished.
His
third race saw Shane get second place by default after initial
winner Craig Boyce was excluded for having a defective silencer
on his bike and it was followed up by another second place
in his final ride in heat 14.
Shane
was originally going to be heading from Poole to ride at Sheffield
this evening for a Hull select but this meeting has already
fallen victim to the weather.
