Belle Vue Link for Pairman?

The previous threat to withdraw from Glasgow by the promotion took another twist yesterday with the Manchester Evening News revealing that Glasgow co-promoter Gordon Pairman is the man behind the recently reported mystery bid to buy Belle Vue Aces.

Neither Belle Vue or Mr Pairman have confirmed or denied the story but the timing of it on top of the Danny Bird saga and Gordon's location, far closer to Manchester than Glasgow, does make the report very plausible.

There is no indication of what it could mean from Glasgow's point of view as there are promoters in the sport have interests at more than one club. Gordon's ambition to have involvement at Elite League level has however never been a secret.

Belle Vue have indicated that they expect to know one way or another by 27th September, just in time for Glasgow's play off challenge.
