Glasgow no 8 in 2004, Gary comes from another
famous speedway family and races under their name of Beaton.
He only took speedway up in 2000 and since
has worked hard under his grandfathers influence and won
the Scottish Junior Championship at Glasgow in 2003.
He did have his first PL rides for Glasgow
in 2004 when coming in as number 8 in the meeting against
Reading after guest Mark Thomson broke his wrist with Glasgow
already operating r/r for Dicken.
He is one of the riders who has benefitted
from the formation of the Dale Devils and has been developing
with them over the past two seasons as well as riding for
the Boro Bears in 2004. With the significant decrease in
the number of Conference League outfits in the north in
2006, Gary may well face a significant amount of travelling
to ride at CL level.
