Record
David is probably one of the most likeable guys in speedway.
He has been riding since 1986 making his Division 3 debut
four days short of his 16th birthday.
A well known face at Glasgow who did a decent job for the
Tigers at reserve in 2003, David was a victim of the points
limits and his outspoken nature after stating at the end
of last season that he felt it would be beneficial for him
to have a year away from Glasgow to try and improve his
away form.
Partly due to his average, no club came in for him and David
ended up riding Conference League at Boston.
With the crises for Glasgow at number two following the
retiral of Graham Jones, the Glasgow promotion moved to
secure the return of David , in all honesty after other
avenues had been exhausted.
As is his style, David gave his all in every meeting and
has an excellent attitude in the pits. Unfortunately it
was not to be enough to put him in the running for a team
slot at Glasgow in 2005 and he ended up starting off the
season riding Conference League for Sittingbourne where
in a short time his nature earned him almost cult status
amongst the fans.
Edinburgh called on David when Robert Ksiezak was injured,
David riding one meeting short of attaining an average to
give him a chance of Premier League speedway in 2006.
He was one of the first Tigers riders named for 2006 and
got an extra boost when his new average without bonus points
was confirmed at a low 3.70.
