2005 Glasgow
Scoring Record
Adam has a good speedway pedigree, his father not only
being an ex-rider but also ex-promoter albeit for only
a few meetings. He first started riding in 1999, rode
in under 15 exhibitions and also represented GB at U15
level. Despite having had a few spins at Armadale, he
became part of Swindon Sprockets squad and made his debut
for them the day after his 15th birthday, winning his
first ever race. After changes at Swindon he rode at CL
or CT level for a few teams, though mostly Mildenhall,
and was unlucky to miss out on a large part of last season
due to injury.
His chance at Glasgow came a few weeks after he guested
against them as part of a Workington side and Adam justified
the Glasgow promotions faith in him. He took a spectacular
fall testing his second bike after a meeting at the beginning
of August but recovered quickly enough not to miss any
meetings. He was not so lucky in the meeting against Sheffield
at the beginning of September when he was the innocent
vitim of an horrific crash when Sheffields Paul Cooper
collected him at speed. The resultant arm injuries ended
Adam's season and he faces another operation at the end
of January to ensure he is fit for the start of the season.
In addition to speedway Adam is an all round sportsman
having taken part in tennis, badminton, football, BMX
and grass track and certainly seems to have the attitude
needed to succeed. He is also a qualified referee who
can referee junior football matches so if Partick Thistle
are ever short one week Michael Max knows who they can
call on!
EDIT: - After being announced as part of Glasgow's 1-7,
Adam received a set back in late January when his surgeon
advised he should not consider returning to the saddle
before April 2006 at the earliest. As a result the Glasgow
promotion had to move to replace him in the initial line
up, bringing in Robert Ksiezak.
