Tigers
Sign Exciting Young Duo
(Posted 28/12/07)
Tigers fans got a welcome festive boost with the announcement
of two more riders for 2008, Josh Grajczonek and Mitchell Davey. Both
are exciting young Australians who are widely recognised as hot prospects
in speedway and had attracted interest from other clubs both in the
UK and on mainland Europe.
Josh is the current Queensland Under-21 champion, Mitchell
finishing runner up to him (a report on the meeting from last month
can be seen here).
He got quite a bit of coverage in the speedway star last year and
was seen as one of the main signing targets for UK clubs looking to
bring in young Australians for 2008. He will also be riding in the
Australian Championships this year alongside Robert Ksiezak - the
first round being at Mildura tomorrow.
Mitchell came over to the UK last year for a months
holiday and managed to get some track action in at various different
tracks where he obviously impressed. He was scheduled to have a spin
at Ashfield but unfortunately the rain put paid to his visit. However
the promotion saw him after the away meeting at King's Lynn and were
obviously very impressed with what they saw. He too will be at the
Australian Championships as one of the reserves.
The Tigers promotion have definitely gone for building
for the future with these two signings and they are signings which
will excite the fans. They will need time to settle but the Glasgow
fans have never found that a problem and both have been signed on
two year deals.
Welcome to Glasgow Josh and Mitchell
