Giants Fixtures Underway

After the Premier League fixture between Sheffield Tigers and Glasgow Tigers, the Glasgow Giants got their Academy League fixtures underway with a meeting against Sheffield Young Guns.

The Giants were depleted, riding with only three riders instead of four and one of those was a guest from King's Lynn in the shape of Simon Lambert.

Simon however did a sterling job, scoring 11 points to help the Giants record a victory by 3 points over their hosts.

Young Ricky-Lee Beecroft, who was recently drafted in to ride for Berwick at short notice in the Premier Trophy meeting at Glasgow, contributed three points despite falling in his opening race whilst Cal McDade weighed in with 5 points including a win in heat 3. Unfortunately we have no race information other than scores.

The return leg between these two sides will take place following Sunday's Premier League meeting when Ricky-Lee and Cal will once again be lining up alongside John Morrison and James McBain, returning to competitive action after a long spell on the sidelines due to injury.
